Whole-House Water Filtration System (Purple Series)

High-capacity filtration for large homes – up to 50 L/min service flow

Experience crystal-clear, great-tasting water throughout your entire home with our premium triple-stage whole-house filtration system. Designed for large dwellings, this system delivers exceptional performance — providing a service flow of up to 50 litres per minute under suitable conditions. Actual household flow depends on incoming pressure, plumbing, water quality and cartridge condition.

Comprehensive Contaminant Removal

Using premium-grade filtration media, this system is designed to reduce or capture the following, depending on incoming water conditions, flow rate and cartridge condition:

✔ Sediment, rust, and sand
✔ Chlorine and chloramines
✔ Fluoride and arsenic
✔ Pesticides and herbicides
✔ Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
✔ Selected heavy metals, including lead and copper
✔ Unpleasant taste, odour, and discolouration

3-Stage Filtration Process

Stage 1 – Sediment Filter

A triple-layer polypropylene cartridge maximises contaminant capture and filter life. It captures sediment and suspended particles before they reach the downstream filtration stages.
Removes sediment, rust, sand, and silt — helping maintain clear water and protect downstream filters.
Manufactured using a binder-free thermal bond process for durability and purity.

Stage 2 – Fluoride & Heavy-Metal Filter

Our fluoride filter uses premium activated alumina — a widely used adsorptive media selected for fluoride, lead and arsenic reduction under suitable operating conditions.

Key Benefits:

  • Designed to reduce fluoride using activated-alumina adsorption media. Actual reduction depends on incoming water chemistry, fluoride concentration, flow rate, contact time and cartridge condition.

  • Provides whole-house fluoride reduction at the point of entry, so treated water is supplied throughout the home.

  • Activated alumina is also used for adsorption of contaminants including arsenic and selected metals under suitable operating conditions.

  • Activated alumina is an established adsorptive treatment media used in drinking-water treatment applications.

  • Adsorptive media designed for use in water-filtration applications.

Size: 20" × 4.5" — fits all standard Big Blue housings.

Technical note:
Unlike absorption (where contaminants can leach out over time), adsorption adsorbs contaminants onto the media under suitable operating conditions; timely cartridge replacement remains essential.

Stage 3 – Disruptor® Filter (DIS-2045)

Advanced multi-level filtration for mains water. The AquaCo® Disruptor® DIS-2045 combines multiple filtration technologies within a single 20" × 4.5" cartridge to provide broad-spectrum contaminant reduction.

Designed to reduce:

  • PFAS compounds including PFOA and PFOS
  • Chlorine and chloramines
  • Unpleasant taste and odours
  • Heavy metals, including lead and copper

How the Disruptor® works:

  • Electroadsorptive filtration: electrically charged filtration media attracts and captures very fine contaminants.
  • Depth filtration: contaminants are captured throughout the filtration media rather than only at the surface.
  • High-surface-area nanofibre media: provides a large active filtration area within the cartridge.
  • Activated-carbon filtration: provides additional reduction of PFAS compounds, chlorine, chloramines, taste, odours and selected heavy metals.

Important: the complete Aquarius whole-house system uses 3 filter cartridges / 3 primary filtration stages. The Disruptor® cartridge itself incorporates 4 levels of filtration within Stage 3.

Filter Replacement & Maintenance

As a general maintenance guide, cartridges should be inspected and replaced according to water quality, household usage, flow performance and the individual cartridge specifications. The Disruptor® DIS-2045 has a replacement guide of approximately 12–18 months, depending on water quality and usage.

Important capacity clarification: the 300,000 L rating shown above is the rated capacity specification for the Disruptor® DIS-2045 cartridge. It is not a blanket 300,000 L replacement rating for every cartridge in the complete three-stage system. The sediment and fluoride/heavy-metal stages have their own service-life considerations and may require replacement earlier depending on local water conditions and usage.

Flow-rate clarification: the complete system is presented for household service flow of up to 50 LPM under suitable conditions. The Disruptor® cartridge specification lists a maximum flow of up to 60 LPM. Actual flow through an installed whole-house system depends on incoming pressure, plumbing, cartridge condition and water quality.

Easy maintenance: the system uses standard-format 20" × 4.5" replacement cartridges, making routine filter replacement straightforward. View compatible replacement filters.

Testing, Standards & Product Transparency

Water-filter testing and certification terminology can be confusing. For clarity, the Aquarius system combines several different components and filtration media, so a test, standard or certification relating to an individual cartridge or component should not automatically be interpreted as certification of the complete assembled Aquarius whole-house system.

Disruptor® DIS-2045 Testing

The manufacturer of the AquaCo® Disruptor® DIS-2045 publishes contaminant-reduction testing for the cartridge, including PFAS compounds such as PFOA and PFOS, chlorine and chloramines, and selected heavy metals. The manufacturer states that PFAS testing uses US EPA 537 methods and that chlorine/chloramine performance testing follows relevant NSF/ANSI 42 performance protocols and drinking-water test methods.

Important: references to testing against, or testing using, a standard or protocol are not the same as claiming that the complete Aquarius system is independently NSF certified.

Fluoride Reduction Stage

Stage 2 uses activated alumina media specifically selected for fluoride adsorption. Fluoride-reduction performance is affected by water chemistry, pH, incoming fluoride concentration, contact time, flow rate and media condition. For this reason, actual performance and cartridge life can vary between properties.

What the 300,000 L Rating Applies To

The published 300,000 L capacity specification applies to the Disruptor® DIS-2045 cartridge. It does not establish a 300,000 L fluoride-removal capacity for the activated-alumina cartridge and should not be treated as the guaranteed life of the complete three-stage system.

Our Approach to Performance Claims

Aquarius Water aims to distinguish between component specifications, manufacturer testing, testing to recognised protocols and certification of a finished product. Where performance depends on source-water conditions or an individual filtration cartridge, those limitations should be considered when selecting and maintaining the system.

If you would like to discuss testing information or the suitability of this system for your water supply before purchasing, call Aquarius Water on 03 9981 3588 or contact us.
