3-Stage PFAS Whole-House Filtration
The Aquarius PFAS Whole House Triple System combines three full-size 20" × 4.5" filtration cartridges inside a premium stainless-steel enclosure. Each stage performs a different role in treating the incoming mains water supply.
Stage 1 – Triple-Gradient Sediment Filter
The polypropylene sediment cartridge captures suspended particles such as sediment, rust, sand and silt. Its graded-density construction captures larger particles in the outer layers and finer particles deeper within the cartridge, helping protect the downstream filtration stages.
Stage 2 – Premium Activated Carbon Filter
The activated-carbon stage is designed to reduce chlorine, unpleasant taste and odour and selected organic contaminants. It also provides additional filtration before water reaches the final Disruptor® stage.
Stage 3 – AquaCo® Disruptor® DIS-2045
The final stage uses the AquaCo® Disruptor® DIS-2045, combining electroadsorptive filtration, depth filtration, high-surface-area nanofibre media and activated carbon.
Designed to reduce:
- PFAS compounds including PFOA and PFOS
- Chlorine and chloramines
- Unpleasant taste and odours
- Selected heavy metals, including lead and copper
Important: the complete Aquarius system uses 3 cartridges / 3 primary filtration stages. The Disruptor® cartridge itself incorporates 4 levels of filtration within Stage 3.

Professional Installation
This system is designed for point-of-entry installation on the incoming mains water supply. Because installation involves the property’s main water line, installation should be completed by a suitably qualified/licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing requirements.
Before installation, your plumber should confirm the installation position, available space, incoming water pressure, pipework and connection requirements, household flow demand and adequate clearance for future cartridge servicing.
Important for installers: do not use liquid sealants on the system ports, as unsuitable sealants may damage the connections. Your plumber should use an appropriate sealing method and fittings for the installation.
Allow Access for Future Servicing
The system should be positioned so the stainless-steel enclosure can be accessed and the 20" × 4.5" cartridges can be removed and replaced without obstruction. Replacement frequency depends on water quality, household consumption and contaminant load.

Maintenance & Replacement Filters
Filter life depends on incoming water quality, household consumption and contaminant load. The Disruptor® DIS-2045 has a general replacement guide of approximately 12–18 months. The sediment and carbon stages should also be monitored and replaced according to their condition and performance.
This system uses standard-format 20" × 4.5" replacement cartridges. View compatible replacement filters.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this system reduce PFAS, including PFOA and PFOS?
Yes. Stage 3 uses the AquaCo® Disruptor® DIS-2045, which is designed to reduce PFAS compounds including PFOA and PFOS. The cartridge also targets chlorine, chloramines, unpleasant taste and odour and selected heavy metals.
What does the 300,000 L capacity mean?
The published 300,000 L rating applies specifically to the Disruptor® DIS-2045 cartridge. It is not a blanket 300,000 L service-life guarantee for all three cartridges or for every contaminant. The sediment and activated-carbon stages have their own service-life considerations.
How often should the filters be replaced?
Filter life varies according to incoming water quality, household consumption and contaminant load. The Disruptor® DIS-2045 has a general replacement guide of approximately 12–18 months. The sediment and carbon cartridges should also be monitored and replaced according to their condition and performance.
Why does the system say 50 LPM while the Disruptor® is rated up to 60 LPM?
The complete Aquarius system is presented for household service flow of up to 50 litres per minute under suitable conditions. The Disruptor® cartridge itself has a listed maximum flow of up to 60 LPM. Actual installed flow depends on incoming pressure, household plumbing, water quality and cartridge condition.
Is this a 3-stage or 4-stage system?
The complete Aquarius whole-house system has 3 primary filtration stages using 3 cartridges. The Disruptor® cartridge used in Stage 3 incorporates 4 filtration levels within that individual cartridge.
Does it reduce chlorine and chloramines?
Yes. The activated-carbon stage is designed to reduce chlorine, taste and odour, while the Disruptor® stage provides additional reduction of chlorine and chloramines.
Does it reduce heavy metals?
The Disruptor® stage is designed to reduce selected heavy metals, including lead and copper. Actual reduction performance can vary with source-water conditions, flow rate and cartridge condition.
Will it soften hard water or eliminate limescale?
This system is primarily a whole-house filtration system rather than a conventional ion-exchange water softener. It should not be purchased on the assumption that it will permanently remove water hardness or eliminate all limescale. If hardness or scale is your main concern, contact Aquarius Water so we can assess the most appropriate configuration.
Is it suitable for a large home or multiple bathrooms?
The system is designed for high-flow household use, with service flow up to 50 LPM under suitable conditions. Suitability for a particular property depends on the number of bathrooms, simultaneous water demand, incoming pressure and existing plumbing.
Does the system require a plumber?
Yes. Because a whole-house system is installed on the property’s incoming mains water line, installation should be completed by a suitably qualified/licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing requirements.
Can I replace the cartridges myself?
Routine cartridge replacement may not require alteration of the main water pipeline, but the water supply must be safely isolated and system pressure released before servicing. If you are unsure about servicing the system, use a suitably qualified plumber.
What size replacement cartridges does it use?
The system uses standard-format 20" × 4.5" cartridges. View compatible whole-house replacement filters.
What information should I provide before ordering?
If you would like Aquarius Water to help assess suitability, provide your suburb, water source, number of bathrooms and any particular contaminants or water-quality concerns.

Testing, Performance & Product Transparency
The filtration performance described on this page relates to the individual filtration media and cartridges used in the system. Component or cartridge testing should not be interpreted as certification of the complete assembled Aquarius whole-house system unless expressly stated.
The AquaCo® Disruptor® DIS-2045 used in Stage 3 is designed for reduction of PFAS compounds including PFOA and PFOS, chlorine, chloramines, taste and odour, and selected heavy metals. Actual performance in a home can vary according to incoming contaminant concentration, water chemistry, pressure, flow rate, usage and cartridge condition.
Capacity clarification: the published 300,000 L capacity is a specification of the Disruptor® DIS-2045 cartridge. It is not a 300,000 L performance guarantee for every contaminant, nor does it define the service life of the sediment or activated-carbon cartridges in the complete three-stage system.
Flow clarification: the complete Aquarius system is presented for household service flow up to 50 L/min under suitable conditions. The Disruptor® cartridge has a listed maximum flow of up to 60 L/min. Actual installed flow depends on the property’s plumbing, incoming pressure and filter condition.
Water-hardness clarification: this is a filtration system, not a conventional ion-exchange water softener. It should not be represented as permanently removing water hardness or eliminating all limescale.
